Do you happen to know which person would’ve had the stall with the eye? Maybe the stall rules applied to each bathroom.

It’s still blocked in OUAt… does that mean they may have actually blocked the stall when wendy was diposed or were they just leaving it that way because that’s how Jennifer’s trying to remember it?

I think that both of those explanations are worth thinking about.

But I can believe that. Jen is pretending that Wendy wasn’t the princess. She blocked that Wendy was the princess through most of the game. The blocked stall may be part of that.

In the “Once Upon A Time” chapter, Jennifer made no statement about the blocked-off stall in the Women’s Lavatory, nor does that stall look any different that I’ve noticed.

She does make a statement at the blocked off stall in the Men’s Restroom:

“Once, Susan started a rumor about voices coming from this room at night… It turned out it was only the door creaking in the wind, but one night, sounds came from the room even with the windows shut. Susan jumped out of her bed and screamed. It was really just a prank by Nicholas and Xavier. From then on, the room was believed to be haunted and was considered off limits.”

“Room” might be a mistranslation for “stall”. If so, the stall was blocked off because it was feared that it was haunted. See my blog-post Did the Orphans Think That the Men’s Lavatory Was Haunted By Mr. Hoffman’s Ghost?. I have generally had the inclination to look for a similar explanation for the blocking off of the stall in the Women’s Lavatory: something to do with Stray Dog, or a ghost.

But if we can put aside the haunted explanation (which perhaps we cannot)…

It might be thought that the fact of the blocked-off stall in the Men’s Lavatory totally blows-out-of-the-water any idea that the blocking off of the stall in the Women’s Lavatory relates to Jennifer’s blocking of her memories of Wendy as Princess. And perhaps it does. Unless… the blocking-off of the stall in the Men’s Lavatory relates to Jennifer’s blocking off of her memories of Prince Joshua (also Wendy!).

For instance, if Wendy was the Princess all along, and if Jennifer knew this fact all along in real life when she lived at the orphanage, but was blocking the remembrance of this in her dream, then the blocked-off stall might never have been actually been blocked-off in real life, but is seen that way in Jennifer’s dream as an aspect of Jennifer blocking her memories about Wendy as Princess.

As Wendy spent so much time in the Sick Room, I expect that she mostly used the upstairs lavatory.

But if Wendy was hiding the fact that she was the Princess, or if Wendy was not always the Princess, then she would have used the stall furthest away from the entrance to the lavatory.

Hmmm… I just now had a totally new thought thanks to your question!

According to the direction of rank that I proposed (the higher rank the rank, the closer to the entrance of the Women’s Lavatory), the stall that one would expect to be assigned to the Princess would be the stall nearest to the entrance: the stall (1) that we see filled with sacks and blocked off from use.

This idea might open up some new possibilities for explaining why we see that stall (1) as we do.

For instance, if Wendy was the Princess all along, and if Jennifer knew this fact all along in real life when she lived at the orphanage, but was blocking the remembrance of this in her dream, then the blocked-off stall might never have been actually been blocked-off in real life, but is seen that way in Jennifer’s dream as an aspect of Jennifer blocking her memories about Wendy as Princess.

You didn’t ask about Clara, but…

As I tend to think of Clara as having been kept in the dark about the Aristocrat Club (because she was so much older than the other girls), I think that Clara may have used whatever stall she wanted, when she was downstairs.

But I do like this hypothesis, it falls into sense when you really think about it.
