If you love the “Silent Hill” games, and have a sense of humor, you should definitely check out the “Noisy Hill” parodies, on Youtube, of “Silent Hill”.
The “Noisy Hill” parodies of “Silent Hill 2″ and “Silent Hill 3″ are now complete, and the parody of “Silent Hill 4″ is currently in progress. I haven’t watched more than a small sampling of “Silent Hill 4: Noisy Hill” so far, but I am looking forward to watching all of it when I have more time.
The link to the YouTube channel of the creator of these parodies, ilikewaxingowls, is:

During the recent domain debacle that had kept Rule of Rose Mysteries down for a couple of days, I found myself really jonesing over my inability to come here and read all the delightful comments I’ve come to rely on from you, my dear reader/comment-ers.
So I had to seek out a substitute source of internet joy to tide me over through those difficult times.
I decided to see what TheHill88 had been up on youtube to since I had last checked in (it had been a while).
In the process, I learned of the existence of Katers17.
Joy.
Another crazy, cute, creative, funny lady to enjoy.
If you haven’t already encountered TheHill88 or Katers17 on youtube… Good!
I’d hate to think that I’m always be the last one to learn of such things.
Here are some links to a few of the youtube videos by Katers17 that I enjoy.
And something recent from TheHill88.

Sorry for the site downage everybody.
Some weird technical glitch involving passwords caused a problem with the domain renewal process for this site. So the site was down until I could figure out a way around the problem and renew the domain.
It is all resolved now.
So I am back.
Yay.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Here is a you tube video showing actors performing the physical actions used in the making of the scene (for the game) on the bus, and at the bus stop, at the beginning of “The Little Princess” chapter of Rule of Rose. There are also some sketches spliced into the video to give context to the action.

While I’m busy studying for the LSAT, here’s a Rule of Rose trivia game for your amusement:
~
In a comment, you can ask a trivia question about Rule of Rose, or answer a trivia question asked by someone else.
Any trivia question should be about an indisputable FACT of the game, not a theory, hypothesis, or interpretation.
Be sure that you know the correct answer to any trivia question that you ask.
If someone gives the correct answer to your question, let us know in a follow-up comment.
You can ask more than one trivia question, and you don’t have to wait until other questions are answered before adding a question.
If you think that you can answer somebody else’s trivia question, put the answer in comment (and make sure you make it clear which question you are answering).
Have fun!

If the Filth Room was Clara’s bedroom, and no longer a filthy place, how was it that Jennifer—low on the orphan pecking-order—managed to inherit Clara’s bedroom after she disappeared?
The following is, admittedly, a very speculative answer, but it IS one based on a story element of the game: Martha’s ghost.
Because of the following story, told by Jennifer, in the Men’s Lavatory, during the “Once Upon A Time” chapter of Rule of Rose, we know that the orphans believed in, and feared, ghosts:
Once, Susan started a rumor about voices coming from this room at night… It turned out it was only the door creaking in the wind, but one night, sounds came from the room even with the windows shut. Susan jumped out of her bed and screamed. It was really just a prank by Nicholas and Xavier. From then on, the room was believed to be haunted and was considered off limits.
We also know that Jennifer encountered the voice of Martha’s ghost, in Clara’s cabin, during the “Unlucky Clover Field” chapter.
Could it be that nobody else wanted to take over Clara’s bedroom (the Filth Room), after Clara disappeared, because there was a fear that it might be haunted?

Thomas made two drawings of a skull on the floor of the upstairs hallway near the Sewing Room. One of the drawings is labeled “skeltin” but there is really only a skull drawn there, not a full skeleton.
In the “Once Upon A Time” chapter of Rule of Rose, pressing “x” at the drawing labeled “skeltin” gives the subtitle:
There are doodles everywhere. No matter how many we cleaned, more would show up the next day.
This is yet another example of Jennifer giving a relatively uninformative comment about a significant clue. Jennifer never really ever opens up about the juicy mysteries of her past… the goings-on at Gregory’s house, the disappearances of Martha, Hoffman, and Clara, the sacrificial offerings, the creepy dolls and the blood in the Cell of Bliss, Hoffman’s sexual predation, etc… and this, I believe, is another example of her avoidance of opening up to us about something important.

Here is a theory that attempts to fit together the clues relating to the “disappearance” of Martha.
~
Martha was writing a letter to the police (about the worrisome interactions between Wendy and Gregory Wilson) when the orphans interrupted her. She would never finish the letter.
See “The Mystery of Martha’s Letter“.
~
Perhaps the orphans created a disturbance upstairs, or perhaps an orphan just told Martha that there was an urgent crisis that she needed to attend to upstairs. At any rate, Martha went up the staircase in the main (front) Hallway and was attacked by the orphans. We see this attack, in the “Unlucky Clover Field” chapter of Rule of Rose, as an imp attack—recall (for comparison of modus operandi) that, in “The Funeral” chapter, Jennifer gets pushed down these stairs by an orphan.
Martha, in the airship, is then dragged through the door that leads to Clara’s cabin. I propose that in the orphanage, Martha was dragged into the Filth Room (which had been previously converted, at Mr. Hoffman’s direction, into Clara’s bedroom).
As I have mentioned previously (See-all Walkthrough, With Commentary: “The Little Princess” Chapter (Part 27): To the Filth Room), the area at the top of the main (front) staircase in the orphanage is transformed, in the airship chapters of Rule of Rose, into the clover leaf doors area.
See the you tube video: Martha attacked and dragged away. Jump ahead and watch from time 9:00 to 9:30.

Jennifer sees Martha bound and bagged in Clara’s cabin, during the “Bird of Happiness: chapter. She doesn’t help Martha. Martha being kept bound in the Filth Room to some extent parallels Jennifer also being bound in the Filth Room (at the beginning of the “Unlucky Clover Field” chapter and at the beginning of “The Funeral” chapter).
View the you tube video of Martha bound and bagged in Clara’s cabin. Jump ahead and watch from time 2:25 to 2:50.

There are several mysteries relating to Clara’s cabin on the airship.
1. What is the meaning of the barricade in the hallway that separates Clara’s cabin from the cabins of the other orphans?
2. Why does Jennifer find Martha bound and bagged (but alive) in Clara’s cabin, during the “Bird of Happiness” chapter?
3. Why does Jennifer encounter Martha’s ghost in Clara’s cabin, during the “Unlucky Clover Field” chapter?
I think that my theory that the Filth Room was Clara’s bedroom can shed some light on these mysteries; and I think that in examining the mysteries of Clara’s cabin, we can find some support for the theory that the Filth Room was Clara’s bedroom.
So this is what I will address in my follow-up blog-posts in this series.
I will also use story elements relating to Clara’s cabin to build a hypothesis about how it was that Jennifer managed to gain the Filth Room as her own bedroom.
Can you see why it is a puzzle that Jennifer was able to have a private bedroom?
