No, I don’t have any theory about this but initials as middle names were very rare in Great Britain. Only upper classes and specific social ranks were fond of giving middle names (especially multiple middle names). Thats why I find pretty strange that a ”poor” pea farmer’s having a middle name. Like somebody else told on another post, the house may be on poor shape but the furniture is ”too pretty” for a proletarian. Like you said PN, it may be because of the foreign setting for the story but knowing that that the authors seemed to be really aware about the R101… I have some theory to develop about that family, most of them may be just coincidences with the old testament. The best example is Joshua, which mean ”Lord is my salvation” and Nun (his father) ”River of the big fish”, fighting for his people freedom and finding a way to restore the promised land. As Rule of Rose point out, Joshua is the prince of the fish-airship which is the only redemption and way to the truth for Jennifer. In that way, if Gregory was an upper class in the past, then he gave a very fitting name for his son.

I’ve no knowledge about the social factors involved in having a middle name during that time and locale. And I don’t know what sort of mystery-explaining theory I could build around that factor either. This might be more specialized knowledge than one should expect from Japanese game-makers using a foreign setting for their story. But if you have a theory, I’m eager to hear it.

Hello everyone! About the gingerbread house, there’s something bothering me. Why Gregory Wilson has a middle name ? I mean… it is so important for the authors? Knowing that Rule of Rose is pretty meticulous on details, I would like to know… I thought 1900-1950 British middle names were a reference about the person’s social class. Last time I saw one, it was an Amish friend who used the first letter of his mother’s maiden name.

There is no male clothing out there. There are skirts, shirts, dresses, but no identifiable male clothing.

The possibility that Wendy is the “Joshua” of Gregory’s diary entries is a possibility that I think is extremely interesting. Thinking like a writer, I would tend to think that the coughing is a clue to tell us that they are the same person.

Wendy helped Jennifer escape from Gregory’s basement room near the end of January, but Jennifer doesn’t arrive at the orphanage until sometime in March. We don’t know what happened in between. My guess is that Wendy showed Jennifer where to turn herself in to the local authorities, Jennifer didn’t tell the authorities about Gregory, and eventually Jennifer was sent to the orphanage.

Gregory isn’t in the orphanage photo. The man in the photo is Mr. Hoffman.

ehm, there is something i’ve always been wondering about in ror..if greg rescue jen and so on, how did she end up in the orphanage?

And in gregs house, there is a photo of “a happy family” (where you find the gun) but it’s like..in bad shape, to me it looks like a girl in the picture with greg. Then at the end of the game there are boys clothing all over the floor which led me to believe that every time he found a “pea” as he put it he would make a new Joshua which was every week. So imagine those piles of boys clothing splattered across the floor being each week he restarted his day before the child was killed. In result, both possibilities are used.

Ok, I Gotta know. Where EXACTLY did you see boys clothing all over the floor? Because I missed this scene.
